About Walmi Up Institute
Welcome to the Water and Land Management Institute (WALMI), Lucknow, a premier training and research institution dedicated to the efficient management of water and land resources. Established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, WALMI plays a vital role in strengthening the capabilities of engineers, officers, and professionals in irrigation, agriculture, and water resource management.
The WALMI was sprouted under USAID program during eighties. It came in to existence during 1984 under World Bank aided, Upper Ganga Irrigation Modernization Project. The basic objectives were to train farmers and the line agency officials of the Irrigation Department Uttar Pradesh.
